Who is Boarding for Breast Cancer?
Monica Steward, an avid snowboarder, and breast cancer fighter, inspired the inception of the B4BC Snowboard + Music Festival in 1996, the event that would eventually give rise to Skate the Coast in California.
Steward received a late breast cancer diagnosis, which, unfortunately, she could not overcome. According to the CDC, increasing breast cancer screening rates to 100% could potentially save 2,821 lives annually in the US through early detection. Skate the Coast is committed to raising awareness and providing education on this critical issue.
